Lavanya is based in Bangalore, India, and is an advisor to the board at FINH and the fifth-generation owner-manager of her 90-year old family-run business, a $100M national retailer in India.
Lavanya has 15 years experience in ecommerce, consumer and retail through her stints at McKinsey & Company, Myntra (Flipkart Group), and Nalli Silk Sarees. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a mentor and investor to a number of early stage start-ups in India and a frequent speaker at conferences on family businesses and their unique challenges and opportunities; she has chaired Campden India’s flagship ‘Families in Business’ conference
The Economic Times named Lavanya among corporate India’s fastest rising women leaders. She was named by Forbes as “Asia’s Women to Watch” in 2016 and has been profiled by various business publications. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, is an ambassador for NITI Aayog Government of India’s innovation efforts, and is an Aspen Fellow as part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
